We have a multi-tap output transformer available for this kit which features 4, 8, and 16 Ohm speaker output secondary taps. The global tone control also helps shape the overall timbre of the amp, giving the player total control over their sound without having to spend hours dialing in EQs. The normal and bright channels each have their own volume control, and the two channels can even be 'jumpered' together and blended for a new range of tonal options. Our Tweed Deluxe style amp has two normal channel inputs and two bright channel inputs. We chose a Jensen C12Q 35 Watt speaker to complement the 5E3 style circuit, as it enhances the sound of the amp without compromising its historic tonal accuracy. Utilizing two 6V6 power tubes, one 12AY7 preamp tube, and one 12AX7 preamp tube, the circuit is simple enough to maintain a rich harmonic composition but powerful enough for guitarists to use in recording studios, rehearsals and smaller venues - and the amp is just a microphone away from being ready for bigger stages. At higher volumes, this amp produces saturated tones that were adopted as signature tones for the likes of Billy Gibbons, Neil Young, Don Felder, and Larry Carlton. These amps were originally designed as medium power amps that would allow a musician to plug in more than one amplified instrument at a time. Mojotone’s Tweed Deluxe Style Amp is based on the popular 5E3 circuit from the 1950s and is by far our most popular amplifier. Please read our article 'Mojotone Amp Kit Building Primer' along with our amp kit disclaimer located in the Specs tab before buying this kit. If I were building an amp from scratch I would build a Vox AC15 clone, dead simple and so much tone, they are superb, I did build an 18 watter Marshall AX84 November, but I didn't like it, not to my taste, but it has recieved great sound bites so may well suit, do not build a Fender Champ, it is just so flat sounding compared to the original amps, don't know why but it is, no chime at all, maybe it was the OT I was using in mine.If this kit shows as out of stock please check here for more information. Hi Guys, oh I love valve amps, just sold my 1971 Orange Graphic Plexi, ( oh so sad, still anyway moving on, give this guy a shout for any parts for valve amps, he will put a kit together and is very reasonable, his name is Phil and he is very helpful, sadly Barry Plows who owns Ampmaker is very ill and will not be around for a fair while, I did buy one of his chassis and amazing cabinets, first class gear, he needs to get back on track soon. My sense of rythm and groove is too much better than my timing. I still have much work with my guitar playing. I'm not yet 100% satisfied with the result but it will get there. I have also built a very small and simple one-tube 0,5W amplifier designed by myself. Their webshop also seem to be translated to english. I haven't seen it myself but hte feedback on webforums has been positive, and Uraltone has always been easy to deal with. Their model Uraltone JR is delivered as a kit with a predrilled aluminium chassis. I can also recommend from Finland (my homecountry). Instructions, sound samples and helpful discussion board can be found on. I didn't buy the kit and sourcing the components was no problem at all. I think all AX84 amps are availiable as kits. It's has a single ended power stage based on an EL84 pentode and two triode stages as preamp stage (12AX7). ![]()
